Bookstore "100,000 Books" Closed in Ekaterinburg

On Wednesday, January 27, court officers suspended the work of Ekatertinburgs famous bookstore "100,000 Books", which is situated in the building of the publishing house "Uralsky Rabochy", at 49 Lenina prospekt.

The store was closed because of rent debts. It is closed until a courts decision. The activity of the publishing house is also held up.

The problem arose from the old property disputes over the premises occupied by the publishing house. The building belongs to the regional department of the Federal Agency for Cultural and Historic Heritage Preservation that leased it out to the company "Tatlin." According to the spokesman of the "Uralsky Rabochy", the "Tatlin" company intends to evict the publishing house from the building.

Ekaterinburg Metro

Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Alexander Misharin attended the construction site of the Ekaterinburg metro. Two new stations of metro have been under construction for a number of years already.

The governor considered that investing of 4 billion rubles into the construction will allow to finish it by 2011. Although Alexander Misharin hoped to get more budget funds from the Government. He also admited a possibility of allotting this money from the regional budget.

Re-Organization of Heat Providers

IES-Holding enterprises in the Middle Ural have finished re-structuring. Energy Generating Company TGK-9 and its affiliate, Sverdlovsk Energy-Saving Company (STK) has officially divided their functions.

STK will become an independent player in the heat supplies market, while TGK-9 will focus solely on energy generation. Company representatives refer to IES-Holding general re-organization as the main reason why local affiliates also re-distributed their functions.

Perspectives from Singapore

An order from Singapore will fully employ one of workshops of VSMPO-Avisma in the first quarter of 2010. Asian customers placed an order for two thousand tons of ferrotitanium. At the moment workers of the Corporation work full time in a 24-hours regime.
