The Sverdlovsk Academic Theater of Musical Comedy
Devil & Virgin (Rus. – Tchert I Devstvennitza)
Kirill Strezhnev and his colleagues have cooperated with the translator Tamara Skuy for a long time. She successfully translated a number of European operas and musicals that have been staged in Oleg Tabakov's Theatre in Moscow, Lensovet Theatre, and in local theatres in Russia.
«Devil&Virgin» is a musical by Armando Trovaioli. It was adopted for the Russian audience.

Nikolai Gogol - Dead Souls (Rus. – Mertvie Dushi)
«The Dead Souls» musical (after Nikolai Gogol) is a new performance in the repertoire of the theater. The producers Alexandr Pantykin and Konstantin Rubinsky blended the plot of the novel with their own creative ideas and ended up with a new musical custom-made for the theater.

A top official is attempting to have an affair with one of the secretaries in the hotel. However, with a conniving waiter, a suspicious hotel manager, an alert private detective, an angry wife, a furious husband, a bungling secretary, and unconscious nurse and a dead body, nothing is going to go as planned.

For 10,000 francs a week, they are to simulate the situation that life has failed to afford him by improvising, to his direction, the behavior of a perfect family. He wants it to look like the real thing...

Eugene Onegin
Opera by Pyotr Tchaikovsky
Tchaikovsky wrote «Eugene Onegin» in 1878, using a libretto by Konstantin Shilovsky and himself, based on the epic poem by Pushkin. The composer was first drawn to the project by the famous «letter scene», in which Tatyana declares her affections for Onegin. Tchaikovsky provided music for this scene - at least the latter part of it - first and built the rest of the work around it, ultimately producing his most popular opera. If the libretto supplies many opportunities for dramatic scenes, Tchaikovsky's music certainly rises to almost every occasion.

The Tsar's Bride (Rus. – Tsarskaya Nevesta)
The Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's opera «The Tsar's Bride» is noteworthy that the decorations are to be made created according to the original stenography and following the traditions of the 1950s - 1960s. The theatre's property men assure that The Tsar's Bride in Ekaterinburg is going to be more vivid than in the Bolshoi Theatre.
For example, fabric for the costumes was bought in a church shop in Moscow. People working in the sewing workshop say that only church brocade could successfully imitate tsar's clothes.

Nutcracker

A fairy tale-ballet in two acts, three scenes, by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, composed in 1891–92.
The audience did not appreciate «Nutcracker» as «Swan Lake» and «Sleeping Beauty» in XIXth century. But later the genius score by Pyotr Tchaikovsky was a great success. The «Nutcracker» ballet is based on the story «The Nutcracker and the King of Mice» written by E.T.A. Hoffman. Although what is seen on the stage today is different in detail from the original story, the basic plot remains the same.

The Ekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts
Georg Baselitz – Druckgrafik, 1965-1992
Georg Baselitz studied painting at the Hochschule fur bildende und angewandte Kunst and at the Hochschule der bildenden Kunste, West Berlin. During this period, he adopted the surname Baselitz, taken from the name of his birthplace.In searching for alternatives to Socialist Realism and Art Informel, he became interested in anamorphosis and in the art of the mentally ill.
In 1980 Baselitz was chosen to represent Germany at the Venice Biennale. During the 1980s and into the 1990s, his work was frequently exhibited at the Michael Werner Galleries, Cologne and New York.
Since the late 1980s, solo exhibitions and retrospectives of Baselitz’s work have been presented at the Sala d’Arme di Palazzo Vecchio, Florence; Nationalgalerie, Berlin; Kunsthalle der Hypo-Kulturstiftung, Munich and Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York.

The Department of foreign literature of the Belinsky Library has introduced an exhibition of books donated to Sverdlovsk by Americans in 1941-1945. The books arrived at the Belinsky Library in 1967, in the heat of the Cold War.

XXth Century Paris at Night
The Photography Museum «The House of Metenkov» presents exhibition «Paris at night» of the XXth century French photographer Brassai.
Brassai (pseudonym of Gyula Halasz) (1899 - 1984) was a Hungarian artist, photographer, sculptor, writer and filmmaker who rose to fame in France.
The exhibition is prepared by the museum together with The French Republic Consulate General in Russia, the French Republic Culture Center in Moscow and Alliance Francaise in Ekaterinburg within the cultural exchanges of the Year of France in Russia and Years of Russia in France 2010.

International Jazz Festival
Sharon Clark, USA
Washington, D.C. standout Sharón Clark has brought festival and concert audiences to their feet across the U.S. and Europe.
Her 2008 release, «Do it Again - My Tribute to Shirley Horn,» is on its second printing, and she grabs top honors wherever she goes. Ms. Clark won the Gold Medal and $10,000 top prize at the Savannah Music Festival's American Traditions Competition. She then took first place in the Billie Holiday Vocal Competition, which offers a $2,500 prize along with a featured appearance with the Baltimore Symphony.
Ms. Clark has performed at the Kennedy Center, Blues Alley, the Lincoln Theater, the Smithsonian Jazz Café, the One Step Down and Twins Jazz.
In 1998, Ms. Clark performed by invitation for President William Jefferson Clinton and other dignitaries at a retreat sponsored by the Democratic National Committee. In addition, Ms. Clark appears regularly at Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C.
