A fairy tale-ballet in two acts, three scenes, by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, composed in 1891–92.
The audience did not appreciate Nutcracker as Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty in XIXth century. But later the genius score by Pyotr Tchaikovsky was a great success. The Nutcracker ballet is based on the story The Nutcracker and the King of Mice written by E.T.A. Hoffman. Although what is seen on the stage today is different in detail from the original story, the basic plot remains the same.

From the moment he won the Cardiff Singer of the World Competition in 1989, Dmitri Khvorostovsky has been hailed as one of the great voices of his generation. His rare balance of technical command and passion, coupled with a magnetic presence and expansive vocal instrument, has only heightened his reputation as the years have passed.
Dmitri Khvorostovsky made his own film debut in a contemporary adaptation of Mozart's opera Don Giovanni. In Don Giovanni Unmasked, produced by Rhombus Films, he took on the demanding dual roles of noble and servant.
Khvorostovsky retains strong ties to Russia and remains deeply committed to introducing the wealth of Russian music to audiences around the world. He was the first opera singer to give a solo concert with orchestra and chorus at Moscow’s Red Square, in 2005, at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin, Khvorostovsky gave an historic tour throughout singing to hundreds of thousands of people to commemorate WWII soldiers. Today, he still tours Russian cities annually, playing before packed houses in stadium-size arenas.

In the 1960's pop artists developed interested not only in the noble way of printing hieroglyphs on textile, but also in the way they were created. Pop art came to Russia later than to some other countries, therefore the art of silk-screen decoration became popular in this country only in 1974. Although first silk-screen decorations made by Russian artists had a success, the art gradually faded away.
The exhibition displays bright silk-screen decorations that gave birth to modern techniques of mass production.

The film was made at the height of France’s protracted and costly war against Algeria, something which may have contributed to director Yves Robert’s problems in finding a financial backer for the film. In the end, he had to set up his own production company with his wife, Danièle Delorme. No French distribution company would touch the film, so Robert was forced to turn to the Americans – Warner Brothers took up the challenge, but without any great enthusiasm. No one could have anticipated the film’s success - it attracted just under 10 million spectators in France (making it the second most popular film ever made in France at that time), and it was a huge international hit.

La Freccia Azzurra (Eng. - The Blue Arrow) is a film that uses computers in a highly refined manner; so much so, that one hardly notices.
The technological aspect, in fact, is probably the main reason why the movie is so important. Having clearly got a late start with respect to other European countries (with France leading the way), Italy has quickly caught up over the past few years in terms of both equipment and professionalism; it has done it in such a way that the small but efficient structure known as Cartoonia (based in Turin and Terni) can present its business card as proof that it is able to compete head-to-head with other major European companies that supply digital ink-and-paint and computerized rendering. Cartoonia, which took on The Blue Arrow, was started in 1992 as an offshoot of Turin's La Laterna Magica, which produced the film.
