The Sverdlovsk Academic Theatre of Musical Comedy and Budapest State Opera present the world-famous Gipsy Love.
In Ekaterinburg the Franz Lehar’s operetta was performed in 1935 for the first time and gained general acceptance in 1990s.
Attila Béres shows masterly the mix of drama and comedy in the eternal triangle. Who wins the heart of beautiful Zorika – an ordinary guy who felt in love or a hot gipsy boy?

Description
The Queen of Spades (Rus. - Pikovaya Dama) is an opera in 3 acts (7 scenes) by Pyotr Tchaikovsky to a Russian libretto by the composer's brother Modest Tchaikovsky, based on a short story of the same name by the greatest Russian poet Alexander Pushkin.
For a period the opera was commonly performed in French under the still recognized title Pique Dame. Nowadays, the opera is almost exclusively sung in Russian. There are several recordings of it, and it is frequently performed. While composing the music, Tchaikovsky actively edited the libretto. He substantially changed the text, entered scenic notes, made reductions, and wrote his own lyrics for arias for Yeletsky, Lisa, and the chorus.

Annual theatre festival Kolyada-Plays holds by the world-famous Kolyada Theatre*.

The Lord Loves It
Students of the Ekaterinburg State Theatre University presents a new performance based on Zlata Demina’s play The Lord Loves It and musical show Sign Language Songs.
The musical show lasts for one and a half hour. Students “sing” all the songs using sign sigmoid for deaf-and-dumb persons. It was Sign Language Songs Show that was highly appreciated by the theatre critics in Russia and abroad.

The Kolyada Theatre and Oleg Bogaev are performing a play Down the Road without Stops.
Oleg Bogayev is a Russian playwright who lives in Ekaterinburg. He has been described by Moscow Times theatre critic John Freedman as "one of the first and best-known students to graduate from Nikolai Kolyada’s playwriting course at the Ekaterinburg State Theatre Institute."
