Description
Alexey Yankovsky presents «The Pillowman» based on famous Irish playwright Martin McDonagh’s play. McDonagh’s plays are extremely popular in Russia. Many of his works – «The Beauty Queen of Leenane», «A Skull in Connemara», «The Lonesome West» and «The Lieutenant of Inishmore» – have been successfully performed in theatres in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Ekaterinburg.

Description
«Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead» is an absurdist, existentialist tragicomedy by English genius Tom Stoppard. The play expands upon the exploits of two minor characters from Shakespeare's «Hamlet.» Major themes of the play include existentialism, free will vs. determinism, the search for value, and the impossibility of certainty. As with many of Tom Stoppard's works, the play has a love for cleverness and language. It treats language as a confounding system fraught with ambiguity.
Thanks to Stoppard, the play has become almost as well-known as the original.

The Academic Opera and Ballet House of Ekaterinburg
«Swan Lake» by Peter Tchaikovsky
Description
Perhaps the most popular ballet in the world. The ballet «Swan Lake» («Lebedinoye Ozero»-Rus.) was composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1875-1876. Many critics have claimed «Swan Lake» as a national ballet due to fact that a swan is originated from Russian romantic lyric sources. The image of the swan and the very idea of a faithful love are essentially Russian. Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece is the most revered of classical ballets. Though the exact interpretation of the swan is still uncertain, no one could beat Anna Pavlova’s vanguard performance.

Photo exhibition «Where time comes from»
Description
The photo exhibition presents approximately a hundred photos taken during an expedition to the North and South Poles. Evdokiya Marchenko, a Doctor of Science, astronomer, and member of the International Writers and Publishers Academy headed the group of explorer-travelers. The main objective of the study during the expedition was to investigate the nature of the fourth dimension - time, since the poles are the places where all meridians cross and all the time zones join. One can walk through all the time zones within a matter of seconds, literally stepping on the «noon» zone with one foot and the «midnight» zone with the other.

Veniamin Stepanov personal exhibition «Fashion as an element»
Description
The famous Ural artist Veniamin Stepanov presents pages from his own graphic book «Fashion as an element» (2008-2009). Fashion for Stepanov is a continuous culture process. That is why artist prefers to combine the past and the present of the culture process in a masterly fashion. In the meaning of the word “fashion” he includes color and cut of dress, accessories and even tattoos.

Retro Project «Labels» («Etiketki»)
Description
At the exhibition visitors may enjoy 64 works of art (canvas, oils) by different painters of the art group «The Mitki.»
The pictures are the remakes of the Soviet vodka and alcoholic labels, the way the painters see them. One more exhibition is dedicated to real alcohol labels of the Soviet era (collection of the Museum of Labels).

Description
«Inhabited Island» is based on a novel by the Strugatsky brothers, famous Russian sci-fi authors and published in English as «Prisoners of Power.» Due to its length the movie was split into two parts.
The first part came out in December 2008 and the second is released in April 2009.
The year 2157. The blossom times for the human civilization. Pilots of the Freelance Search Group enjoy interstellar traveling. A Russian spacecraft, piloted by a 22 year old Maxim Kammerer, crashes on the distant inhabited Saraksh planet. After long years of a nuclear war, an environmental crisis reigns over the planet, the society is overburdened with social problems, and the established peace is quite shaky. The brave astronaut will explore a mysterious land governed by the Unknown Fathers who are five anonymous rulers manipulating the inhabitants consciousness using special emitters. There Maxim will meet new friends, make enemies, find his love and, after getting through dangerous trials, hunger, mortal hazards and losses, will lead a rebel movement challenging the five greedy rulers.
