International Track & Field Athletics Competitions Christmas Rounds

Annual sport event that is held on Christmas Holidays. Among the participants are Russian and foreign athletes, who take part in Olympic Games.

Rock-Festival Old New Rock

The largest and well-known rock-festival in the Ural gathering Russian popular rock-bands from Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Ekaterinburg, and other cities. Every year more than 10 000 rock-fans visit the event. Holds twice a year – on January and July.

Euro Hockey Indoor Nations Championship

In Ekaterinburg field hockey championship is held since 2008.

Indoor field hockey is an indoor variant of "traditional" outdoor field hockey. Indoor hockey is traditionally and mainly played as a pastime by outdoor field hockey players during the off-season, when the outdoor pitches are frozen, or alternatively conditions are too hot for outdoor play.

Indoor field hockey is played in regular national and international championships. The first Indoor Field Hockey World Cup was organized in 2003. It included countries which do not compete at the highest level of the outdoor game.

Ekaterinburg has an honor to host the European Championship because the Ural field hockey team Dynamo is among the top ten European hockey clubs. Moreover, the Dynamo team forms a core of the National and Olympic hockey teams.
