Cross-Country National Race
 

At the end of the summer a special sport event is organized – Cross-country national race or National Run.

Since 2004, the National Run event has attracted more and more participants due to its democratic rules, coverage and format “free for all comers.” This unique sport event is the most important and well-known in Russia.

Every year at least 1, 5 mln people from Kamchatka to the Baltic take part in the cross-country national race. Among them are pop-stars, politicians, sportsmen, and show-men.

In Ekaterinburg the National Run usually holds at an outdoor venue.

The City Day
 

The City Day is usually held on 3rd Saturday of August.

The common places for holiday events are the Historical Park, the Square of 1905, the Literary Quarter and the City Pond embankment.

Many famous rock- and folk-bands are performing there. Among unique events – Russian trade fair, carnivals, flowers festivals, and a fountain show.

At the end of the celebration fireworks are let off.
